Burnett Livestock and Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks & Store Sale on Monday, 16th February saw a rain reduced yarding of 1080 head.
Cattle were drawn from Lawgi Dawes, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Hivesville, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Childers, Gin Gin, Rosedale, Miriam Vale, Mount Larcom, 1770 and all local areas.
Aged Limousin cross cows and calves from Brooweena sold for $2200. First-calf Droughtmaster cows and calves from Brooweena also sold for $2200. Brangus cross cows and calves from Good Night Scrub sold for $2075. Most cows and calves sold from $1400 to $1800.
Six and eight tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Bundaberg sold for 470c/$3126. Milk and two tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Riverleigh sold for 474c/$2276. Four tooth crossbred bullocks from Biggenden sold for 468c/$2914. Four and six tooth Droughtmaster cross bullocks from Gin Gin sold for 466c/$2346.
Two and four tooth Red Brangus cross heifers from Wallaville sold for 436c/$2170. Four and six tooth Grey Brahman heifers from Bundaberg sold for 436c/$2355. Six tooth Brangus cross heifers from Mount Perry sold for 430c/$2495. Two tooth Red Brahman heifers from Childers sold for 430c/$2344. Four tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Booyal sold for 438c/$2606.
Charbray cows from Biggenden sold for 392c/$2422. Grey Brahman cows from Gayndah sold for 392c/$2127. Brahman cross cows from Didcot sold for 392c/$2000. Droughtmaster cows from Booyal sold for 388c/$2241. Charbray cows from Kandanga sold for 398c/$2845. Most heavy cows sold for 360–385c/kg, medium cows for 320–350c/kg and store cows sold for 240–310c/kg.
The number of heavy feeder steers yarded was reduced following our two recent steer sales. The steers that were yarded sold from 420–440c/kg.

Milk tooth Droughtmaster steers from Gayndah sold for 510c/$1676. Milk tooth Droughtmaster/Brahman cross steers from Hivesville sold for 480c/$1287.
Charbray weaner steers from Dundathu sold for 562c/$1146. Brangus weaner steers from Miriam Vale sold for 518c/$1127. Brangus cross weaner steers from Degilbo sold for 550c/$1110. Charbray weaner steers from Didcot sold for 528c/$1307. Most weaner steers sold for 420–500c/kg.
Two tooth Charbray heifers from Childers sold for 428c/$2162. Two and four tooth Brahman cross heifers from Gin Gin sold for 422c/$1583. Two tooth Charolais cross heifers from Didcot sold for 432c / $1880. Two tooth Brangus heifers from Coalstoun Lakes sold for 420c/$1239. Milk tooth Santa cross heifers from Yerra sold for 426c/$1539. Most feeder heifers sold for 370–420c/kg.
F1 Charolais cross weaner heifers from Miriam Vale sold for 476c/$827. Brangus cross weaner heifers from Degilbo sold for 456c/$946. Brangus weaner heifers from Miriam Vale sold for 458c/$864. Crossbred weaner heifers from Lawgi Dawes sold for 454c/$1203. Most weaner heifers sold for 360–420c/kg and store types selling for 250–330c/kg.
