Charolais cross weaner steers sell to 500c/kg at Biggenden
Burnett Livestock & Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks & Store Sale on Monday 11 August 2025 saw yarding of 1330 head.
Cattle were drawn from Biloela, Theodore, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Tansey, Murgon, Woolooga, Tiaro, Hervey Bay, Childers, Brooweena, Maryborough, Bundaberg, Gin Gin, Miriam Vale, Rosedale and all local areas.
Six and eight tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Miriam Vale sold for 386c/$2730. Six and eight tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Biggenden sold for 383c/$2771. Four and six tooth Speckle Park steers from Binjour sold for 374c/$1990. Two tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Childers sold for 379c/$2199.
Six tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Miriam Vale sold for 359c/$1975. Two tooth Charbray heifers from Pine Creek sold for 354c/$2018.
Grey Brahman cows from Childers sold for 332c/$2055. Droughtmaster cross cows from Maryborough sold for 328c/$2092. Brahman cross cows from Biggenden sold for 328c/$1958. Charbray cows from Pine Creek sold for 320c/$2225. Most fat cows sold for 300-320c/kg and the middle range fat cows for 260-290c/kg while store cows sold for 190-250c/kg.
Two and four tooth Belgian Blue cross steers from Biggenden sold for 426c/$2157. Two and four tooth Santa cross steers from Booyal sold for 422c/$2087. Milk and two tooth Charolais cross steers from Brooweena sold for 430c/$1899. Milk and two tooth Brahman steers from Biggenden sold for 394c/$1724.
Milk tooth Simmental cross steers from Childers sold for 436c/$1640. Milk tooth Crossbred steers from Hervey Bay sold for 450c/$1511. Milk tooth Charbray steers from Childers sold for 448c/$1378. Milk tooth Charolais cross steers from Gayndah sold for 454c/$1464.
