Steers Sell To 500c/kg At Biggenden
Burnett Livestock & Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks & Store Sale on Thursday 30 January 2025 saw a yarding of 2311 head.
Cattle were drawn from Mount Larcom, Theodore, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Monto, Gayndah, Murgon, Goomeri, Sexton, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Rosedale, Lowmead, Miriam Vale and all local areas.
Big Framed Simmental cross cows and calves from Gin Gin sold for $2150. Young Red Brangus cows and calves from the Goodnight Scrub sold for $2000 and the Red Brahman cows and calves for $1940. Young Red Brahman cows and calves sold for $1600.
Six and eight tooth Crossbred bullocks from Byrnestown sold for 314c/$1830. Two and four tooth Droughtmaster cross bullocks from Bundaberg sold for 304c/$1731.
Six tooth Charbray heifers from Promise Land sold for 299c/$1899. Four and six tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Tiaro sold for 288c/$1407. Two to six tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Mundubbera sold for 316c/$1964. Six tooth Brahman cross heifers from Gin Gin sold for 308c/$1880.
Charbray cows from Biggenden sold for 274c/$1613. Santa cows from Woodmillar sold for 270c/$1819. Charolais cows from Theodore sold for 268c/$1834. Charbray cows from Didcot sold for 277c/$2217. Droughtmaster cows from Mundubbera sold for 266c/$1583. Grey Brahman cows from Bundaberg sold for 267c/$1448. The medium frame fresh cows sold for 230-250c/kg and the store cows from 180-240c/kg.
