Burnett Livestock and Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks & Store Sale on Monday, 11th May saw a yarding of 1400 head.
Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Kilkivan, Imbil, Maryborough, Burrum Heads, Childers, Bundaberg, Rosedale, Miriam Vale, Mount Perry, Gin Gin, Wallaville, Proston, Woodgate and Tiaro.
Limousin cows and calves from Boompa sold for $1800. Angus cross cows and calves from Mundubbera sold for $1540. Angus cross cows and calves from Tiaro sold for $1400.
Two and four tooth Grey Brahman bullocks from Binjour sold for 446c/$2830. Milk and two tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Childers sold for 438c/$2300. Two to six tooth Santa cross bullocks from Gin Gin sold for 444c/$2606. Two and four tooth Brangus bullocks from Bundaberg sold for 425c/$2210. Two and four tooth Brahman cross bullocks from Kilkivan sold for 436c/$2373.
Four and six tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Gin Gin sold for 380c/$1866. Milk to four tooth Droughtmaster heifers from South Kolan sold for 400c/$1997. Four tooth Speckle Park heifers from Bundaberg sold for 368c/$1914. Four tooth Charbray heifers from Pine Creek sold for 414c/$2663.
Charbray cows from Binjour sold for 346c/$2171. Belmont Red cross cows from Goodwood sold for 340c/$2048. Angus cross cows from Gin Gin sold for 332c/$1910. Angus cross cows from Mundubbera sold for 332c/$1943. Most fat cows sold from 320 to 340c/kg, medium cows sold from 280 to 310c/kg and store cows sold from 180 to 260c/kg.
