Burnett Livestock and Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks & Store Sale on Monday, 27th April saw a yarding of 1850 head.
Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Booubyjan, Murgon, Tiaro, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Childers, Bundaberg, Rosedale, 1770 and all local areas.
Two to six tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Mount Perry sold for 394c/$2187. Four and six tooth Simmental cross bullocks from Coalstoun Lakes sold for 396c/$2241. Two and four tooth Santa cross bullocks from Gin Gin sold for 388c/$2080. Two tooth Brahman bullocks from Biggenden sold for 398c/$2483.
Two and four tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Biggenden sold for 362c/$1662. Two tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Mundubbera sold for 362c/$1820. Two tooth Santa heifers from Maryborough sold for 355c/$1938. Milk and two tooth Brahman heifers from Biggenden sold for 355c/$1869. Most fat heifers sold from 320 to 365c/kg.
Simbrah cows from Booubyjan sold for 324c/$2046. Brahman cows from Biggenden sold for 328c/$2086. Santa cows from Electra sold for 320c/$1969. Brangus cows from Booubyjan sold for 316c/$1704. Brahman cross cows from Brooweena sold for 320c/$1754. Most fat cows from 290–325c/kg, and the medium fat cows sold from 250 to 280c/kg with not many store cows to quote.
In the cows and calves section most sold from $1000 to $1400 and the Droughtmaster PTIC heifers for $1700.
