Burnett Livestock & Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks & Store Sale on Monday, 3rd August saw a yarding of 2780 head.
Cattle were drawn from Sarina, Miriam Vale, Rosedale, Bundaberg, Gin Gin, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Theodore, Imbil, Eidsvold and all local areas.
Large framed aged Limousin cross cows and calves from Brooweena sold for $1800 per head. Angus cows and calves from Mundubbera sold for $1500/hd. Brahman cross cows and calves from Kandanga sold for $1600.
Six Tooth Brangus cross bullocks from Gin Gin sold for 440c/$2327. Two and Four Tooth Droughtmaster bullocks sold for 416c/$2544. Six and Eight Tooth Droughtmaster cross bullocks from Miriam Vale sold for 394c/$2606.
Six Tooth Droughtmaster heifers from Gayndah sold for 420c/$2395. Four and Six Tooth Droughtmaster cross heifers from Miriam Vale sold for 400c/$2097. Two Tooth Santa heifers from Binjour sold for 406c/$2477. Six Tooth Brangus heifers from Childers sold for 412c/$2287.
Red and Grey Brahman cows from Theodore sold for 378c/$2246. Grey Brahman cows from Gayndah sold for 370c/$2361. Brahman cows from Childers sold for 366c/$1973. Most fat cows sold from 330c to 350c/kg. Store cows sold from 220c to 300c/kg.
