Burnett Livestock and Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks and Store Sale on Monday 22 August saw a yarding of 1600 head, with the market being dearer for all descriptions.
Cattle were drawn from Theodore, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Miriam Vale, Gin Gin, Mount Perry, Monto, Imbil, Teebar, Mooloo, Kin Kin, Tiaro, Hivesville and all local areas.
Four and six tooth Charolais cross bullocks from Mount Perry sold for 397c/$2448. Eight tooth Simbrah bullocks from Rosedale sold for 385c/$2022. Eight tooth Angus bullocks from Gin Gin sold for 385c/$3158. Four tooth Brahman cross heifers from Monto sold for 381c/$1993 and the six tooth heifers for 381c/$2006.
Brahman cross cows from Binjour sold for 351c/$2052. Grey Brahman cows from Mundubbera sold for 347c/$2100. Grey Brahman cows from Gayndah sold for 348c/$2054. Grey Brahman cows from Waterloo sold for 348c/$1814. Droughtmaster cross cows from Monto sold for 351c/$1998.
Angus cows and calves from Bundaberg sold for $2750. Droughtmaster cows with Charolais calves sold for $2750. First calf Grey Brahman heifer’s calves at foot sold for $2100.

A large line of milk tooth crossbred steers from Miriam Vale sold for 512c/$2088 and the two tooth steers for 472c/$2051. Milk tooth Santa Gertrudis cross steers from Childers sold for 506c/$1965.
