Burnett Livestock and Realty’s Biggenden Meatworks and Store Sale on Monday 27 February saw a yarding of 2070 head. Cattle were drawn from Duaringa, Chinchilla, Theodore, Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Goomeri, Kilkivan, Noosa, Caboolture, Eumundi, Gympie, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Tiaro, Brooweena, Miriam Vale, Mount Perry, Gladstone and all local areas.
Eight tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Tiaro sold for 318c/$2059. Four to eight tooth Droughtmaster bullocks from Mount Perry sold for 315c/$1809. Four tooth crossbred heifers from Childers sold for 316c/$1581. Brahman cross heifers from Gayndah sold for 321c/$1911. Six tooth Limousin cross heifers from Gin Gin sold for 320c/$1697. Four to six tooth Droughtmaster cross heifers from Rosedale sold for 322c/$1755. Four tooth Charbray cross heifers from Eidsvold sold for 331c/$1763.
Santa Gertrudis cows from Chinchilla sold for 291c/$1695 and the Brahman cows sold for 288c/$1718. Brahman cows from Biggenden sold for 285c/$1611. Charolais cross cows from Gin Gin sold for 284c/$1641. Charbray cross cows from Boompa sold for 294c/1963. Santa Gertrudis cross cows from Gayndah sold for 284c/$1818.

Murray Grey cross weaner steers from Childers sold for 488c/$1029. Droughtmaster cross weaner steers from Noosa sold for 486c/$1050. Charolais cross weaner steers from Childers sold for 520c/$1417. Generally good quality flatback weaner steers sold from 450-500c/kg with the second run selling from 380c-420c/kg. With most Brahman infused steers selling between 340-380c/kg.
